Right of Withdrawal
This page explains your right to change your mind, in full. It exists as its own document deliberately: this is a right the law gives you, it is not the same as a shop's returns policy, and it should not be buried inside one.
Of the seven European children's and fashion brands we reviewed before writing this, only one named this right as a distinct entitlement, and none published the official withdrawal form. We would rather be the exception.
1) What the right of withdrawal is
If you buy from us online, you have 14 calendar days to withdraw from the contract without giving any reason and without penalty.
This right comes from Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, as implemented in Spain by the consolidated Consumer Protection Act (Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007), Articles 102 to 108. We cannot take it away, shorten it, or make you explain yourself.
2) When the 14 days start
The period runs for 14 calendar days — not working days — from the day on which you, or someone you nominated other than the carrier, takes physical possession of the goods.
- A single item — from the day you receive it.
- Several items in one order, delivered separately — from the day you receive the last item.
- An item delivered in several lots — from the day you receive the last lot.
If the last day falls on a weekend or public holiday, you have until the end of the next working day. What matters is that you send your notice before the deadline, not that it reaches us before it.
3) How to exercise it
Tell us clearly that you are withdrawing. There is no special formula — any unambiguous statement works. You can:
- Fill in the form on this page. It is the fastest route and you get an immediate confirmation.
- Email care@alborkids.com saying you are withdrawing from the contract, with your order number.
- Write to us by post at Avinguda de Cerdanyola 75, planta 1, 08172 Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona, Spain.
You do not have to use the form. It is offered because the law requires us to make it available, and because most people prefer a template to composing a letter.
We will acknowledge your withdrawal without delay, so you have a record that we received it.
4) Sending the goods back
Send the goods back to us without undue delay, and in any event within 14 calendar days of telling us you are withdrawing. Sending them within that period is enough — they do not have to arrive within it.
You bear the direct cost of returning the goods. We state this here, before you buy, because the law requires us to disclose it in advance — if we had not, we would have to pay it ourselves.
We recommend a trackable service. Until the parcel reaches us, your proof of postage is what protects you.
5) What we refund
We refund all payments we received from you, including the cost of delivery.
Two points of detail the law sets out, and we apply exactly as written:
- If you chose a more expensive delivery option than our standard one — Express rather than Standard, for example — we refund the standard cost, not the premium.
- We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods back and inspect them.
We make the refund within 14 calendar days of the day you told us you were withdrawing, using the same payment method you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise. You will not incur any fee as a result of the refund.
6) The condition of the goods
You may handle and inspect the goods as you would in a shop — take them out, look at them, try them on your child. That is what the right is for.
You are only liable for any reduction in value resulting from handling that goes beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. In practice: trying a jumper on is fine; wearing it to the park, washing it or removing the tags is not.
If we do reduce a refund on these grounds, we will tell you the amount and the reason before processing it.
7) When the right does not apply
EU law lists a small number of exceptions. The ones capable of applying to clothing are goods made to the consumer's specification or clearly personalised, and sealed goods not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed.
No Albor product falls into either category. The embroidered campaign phrases are part of the standard product, not made to order, so the right of withdrawal applies to everything we sell.
8) Declare your withdrawal
- Fill in the form on this page. It is the fastest route and you get an immediate confirmation.
- Email care@alborkids.com saying you are withdrawing from the contract, with your order number.
- Write to us by post at Avinguda de Cerdanyola 75, planta 1, 08172 Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona, Spain.
9) After the 14 days
When the legal period ends you still have until day 30 from delivery under our own returns window, which refunds the product price but not the original delivery cost. It is explained in our Returns Policy.
Separately, and for much longer, the legal guarantee of conformity covers faulty goods from delivery. A fault is never a change of mind, and it is never handled under this page.
10) Questions
Write to care@alborkids.com. If any part of this page is unclear, tell us and we will rewrite it — a right you cannot understand is not much of a right.
